Parish Mission

The Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association serves as the organization in the Church emphasizing the ministry of the laity in the Church. The Vicar encourage and strengthen this fellowship by helping them with Bible study and giving leadership in other ways. The branch of the Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association in the Parish is called Edavaka (Parish) Mission. Edavaka Mission is an integral part of the parish. All the members who are 18 and above are considered a member of the Edavaka Mission. There is a voluntary subscription cum membership fee of 10$ is for every member. The person who would like to serve as office bearer must take this membership. Those who volunteer to be members of the Association meet together at least once a week (every Thursday at 7 Pm at church or Zoom platform ) for fellowship, intercessory prayer, Bible study, and sharing experiences.

Mission : Sharing the Gospel. They help with various services in the parish, such as the Sunday school, youth fellowships, and cottage prayer meetings. Members visit the sick, the needy and give spiritual fellowship and material help to them. They work for reconciliation where people are estranged from one another. They also seek opportunities to convey the message of the Gospel to non-Christian friends.

Our Edavaka Mission is governed by the general body consisting of subscribed members and the Vicar as President. Following are the office bearers and Committee Members (Prayer group represents ) for the year 2022:




Long Island Mar Thoma Edavaka mission actively participates in the Northeast Center A and North East Regional activities of the Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists’ Association under the leadership of the Diocese of North America and Europe.
